iTunes help 1: iTunes cannot recognize devices such as iPod, iPhone and the iPad
Mac user sometimes encounter situations where the device is an iPod, iPad, and the iPhone connected to a Mac is not detected by iTunes. I myself experienced this problem a few days ago when I moved from the iMac to the MacBook. iPhone cannot be recognized by iTunes on the MacBook, even though everything is correct, I even move the iMac to the MacBook iTunes library. The main problem that is often found is the “driver” for this iDevices crashed. To solve it, is essentially a bit easy way, which is called to reconnect iTunes. But at some point this procedure is not easy, so that the required extra steps to uninstall the “driver” beforehand.
Make sure your account has Administrator rights. Through Terminal.app, type:
sudo rm-rf / Data / Doc / Control / AppleMobileItem.kext
This step is not important if you are using Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6)
sudo rm-rf / Data / Doc / Process / AppleMobileItemSupport.pkg
And, reinstall iTunes. The problem is over. But in some cases in Snow Leopard, the problem is resolved after the installation of iTunes, but the problem will re-appear after you restart. If you experience these cases, then proceed to the next steps. After restarting, open again Terminal.app and input:
sudo rm-rf / System / Library / LaunchDaemons / com.apple.usbmuxd.plist ~ orig
And restart. Test again to link the iDevices.
If the problem still not resolved, continue to the next step.
Turn off iTunes, unplug iDevices. Open Terminal.app, type:
sudo rm-rf / Processing / Doc / ReleaseDaemons / device.apple.usbmuxd.plism ~ orig
sudo rm-rf / Processing / Doc / Files / AppleMobileItem.kext
sudo rm-rf/ Processing/ Doc/ PrivateFiles/ MobileItem.framework
Restart. Do not connect the first iDevices. Perform installation of iTunes. After that, iTunes and iDevices relations should be re-tender. iTunes help you solve this problem.
